Thank you for using Sleebi! This Privacy Policy explains how Sleebi currently handles your privacy. Your privacy matters to me, and I want to be clear about how I handle any data, so I did my best to keep this document readable and concise.

1. User Information:

1.1 No Personal Data: I don't covertly collect any personal information that could identify you. No data is collected from or merged with other sourceslike using Google Analytics to track your browsing habits, so no cross-site or cross-device tracking. I'm committed to keeping your privacy a priority. User information is only stored on Sleebi servers when you make an account, e.g. the email address / username you log in with, your age and countryto comply with age restrictions in local data protection laws, your watch activity on Sleebi, and any other information you add manually Information that can be added manually includes comments, playlists and user settings. Any payment information is handled by a third-party payment processor and is not stored on Sleebi servers.

1.2 Minors: Users under the age of 16, or 13 in the United States, cannot legally consent to collection of their datadepending on local jurisdiction, and thus cannot create an account on Sleebi. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has an account, please have them delete their account, or contact me at the email address at the bottom of this page so their account can be deleted.

1.3 Why does Sleebi collect User Information?

2. Video watching

If logged in, your Sleebi account will keep track of your watch history.

2.1 Sleebi-hosted videos: When watching a video hosted by Sleebi, no cookies will be used.

2.2 Embedded YouTube Videos: On some pages, Sleebi uses YouTube's embedding API to serve videos. In any such case, YouTube's nocookie host is used for improved privacy. Despite this, YouTube may still collect data for their own purposes. Check YouTube's privacy policy for their data practices and what cookies they use.

3. Plausible Analytics:

3.1 Analytics Data: I use self-hosted Plausible analytics to understand how users interact with Sleebi. This consists only of aggregate data, e.g. it includes which pages are visited, when and how often, but not by whom. IP addresses are not stored to ensure anonymity. Plausible analytics does not use any cookies and is GDPR-compliant by default, as well as CCPA and PECR.

3.3 Geographical Information: I only collect anonymized geographical information. This can help optimize server locations for better load times but again doesn't identify the user, and is at a city-level at its most precise.

3.4 Session Logs: Session logs are not collected, compliant with CNIL guidelines.

3.5 Device Information: Basic information about devices is collected to optimize the user experience. This includes device type, operating system, and browser type. Again this is anonymous and doesn't identify your specific individual device.

3.6 Why does Sleebi collect Analytics Data?

4. Consent and Data Retention:

4.1 Consent: Since no user-identifiable data is collected without a Sleebi account, your consent is implicit when you use Sleebi. By using the site, you agree to the terms in this Privacy Policy. Of course, if non-essential cookies are ever used you will be asked for explicit consent.

4.2 Data Retention: Plausible stores any collected analytics indefinitely, fully anonymized. If you made an account, your user data will be stored indefinitely unless you request for it to be removed, for example by deleting your account or manually removing individual datapoints such as videos from your watch history. Sleebi is legally required to keep invoice and payment data for seven years due to tax regulations.

4.3 Data Transfer: You have the right to request a copy of your data. If you want to do so, please click here or contact Sleebi at the email address below.

5. Your Choices:

5.1 Privacy / Cookie Settings:

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Cookies are generally used to store information about your visit and preferences, like whether you want other cookies. As the current version of Sleebi only uses a single cookiestrictly essential to check whether you're logged in to Sleebi: the "connect.sid" cookie, there are no cookie settings to change.

6.3 Data Selling & Sharing: I will never sell/share any collected data to/with third parties, with the exception of creators who have uploaded videos to Sleebi. In this case, a selection of data that is relevant to the creator will be shared with them, e.g. how their videos are performing.
